*A particularly jovial looking dwarf in a purple coat enters the tavern. Taking in all the sights with a broad smile. Half concealed under the thick moustache affixed to his upper lip. The fellow nods. As if deciding something. Then approaches the bar.* “Hail, good sir!” *He addresses the barkeep. Waving sociably.* “Would you mind at all if I practiced my songs in that yonder corner?” *The emptiest area of the tavern is pointed at. By one of his large fingers.*

I mean if ye can get them other bards off the stage, have a crack at it. Tho, it's a tough crowd so, if a mug be flyin at yer head, do yer best to duck eh?

*He only laughs at the idea. Seeming to not mind some chaotic anecdotes.* “I sure will! Thank you.” *Then turns, setting off for the stage. Patiently observing to see when is the best time speak up.*

*nervously walking in after her father said a spot in an adventure party had just opened up. she looks around at all the people. her tail swishing anxiously behind her. the air around her now much colder as she breathes, as she cannot tame her ice breath as good as most dragonborns can. she sits over at the bar. may as well get a drink since she's here* Hello Sir. May I get a shot of Rum? Thanks....

*quickly reaches in her bag* How much?

*grabs the silver* Here you go! *smiles and holds it out in her claw*

*The bards already performing finally take a moment to decide the next song. So the dwarf strikes then. Waving to get their attention. When he has it he begins his attempt of persuading them to take a break. So that he may try his hand. Perhaps he will get lucky.* “Excuse me, I’d like a go if you lot are finished,” *He flashes a cheeky grin. Hands clasped before him.*

Charles; Suppose I could use a drink, c'mon boys... *the rest of his band follow him to the bar* Charles; The dwarf over there offered us a round in appreciation... we'll have the special, since it's on him and all...

*Shaking his head, but not correcting the other bards. Instead preparing to play.*

*He lights up. Bowing theatrically and saluting with the viol bow.* “Many thanks!” *He then hops off the stage once he put it back the way it previously was. Coming back to the bar. Climbing onto a stool.* “How much are the specials anyway? Mister… ah I never asked your name.” *His gaze scoots elsewhere, to the wood of the bar. In embarrassment. Where are his manners?*

Name's Roddrick... it's on de sign out front.... Happen ta own da place.... As fer yer tab lad. Yer up to nearly 7 gold pieces now.

“Ah… blast.” *He taps a finger on the bar. Briefly telling the Dragonborn his name.* “My name’s Torro. Torro Mirthmug. A pleasure.” *Then goes back to talking with the owner. Fishing out his coin purse. Dumping the contents on the wood with a series of small thumps. There’s only five gold pieces. He hums with a little hint of worry.* “You wouldn’t happen to be the type to let someone work it off, would you Roddrick?” *It’s obvious he’s not trying to be persuasive. Just honestly asking. Hoping it’s the case that he’ll be able to work it out. Or find another way to if necessary.* (edited)

Ad a feelin that one 'ed be pullin meh chain.... But uh... how bout we both get what we want, and you go brink 'ol roddrick his tip jar.... felle left it in his hurry....

*Frowning slightly, he looks over at the stage. Sighing then sliding off his seat. going over to scoop up the jar. Looking… slightly perturbed at snatching someone else’s tips. But passes them to Roddrick anyway once within the appropriate distance.* “Here, feels a little wrong. But he can always make more.” *The dwarf reasons. Getting comfortable on the stool he claimed.*

*gives it a look over then sets it behind the bar, and pushes Torro's coin back at him* Looks like he's buyin fer you tonight... And hey, try not to worry about it too much, Bout time the lad got a bit of a taste of his own medicine...

“Ah… that does make me feel a wee bit better.” *He laughs and once more shakes his head. Putting his coins back away.* “Well even if it didn’t work out I’d have worked in your kitchen for a while. Work it off. Oh, and could I get some ale? It’s good for thinking.”

*looks behind the bar, shaking the tip jar a bit to see just how much the smartass bard could afford* Yeh, but it's the cheap stuff... kid left to early to make too much.... *slides a mug over* 'ere ya go.. And you want a job, not much ye can do bein as short as ye are, but could always use a good barback... scubbin tha barrels an all that...

*The dwarf only shrugs.* “Aye… everyone has to work.” *He takes a hearty drink off his mug. Sighing in satisfaction.* “Does it pay decent, at least? I’ll be in the city for a while. Until I’m all set to venture out again.”

I'll give ya 5 silver a day.... and ye can use the stage on breaks and i'll even let ye keep tha tips...

*This makes him smile. As though maybe it’s the best good break he’s had in a while.* “Works for me. Do you prefer your name, or ‘boss?’”

*He raises his mug. Nodding at the owner.* “Roddrick it is.” *Then chugs the contents. Sliding the mug back over.* “I guess I’d better get started. May I leave these here?” *His backpack, rapier and coat are taken off. Then neatly put together.* “Or is there a specific place?”

“Alright, thanks.” *He puts his belongings in an out of the way spot, after going to the back room. Returning briefly.* “Where’s what needs scrubbing?”

“Ah… aye, suppose they would be.” *He laughs it off. Turning and going to get the job done. Humming some notes from the song he played earlier as he goes.*

*sitting on the bar stool* Is he coming back?....

*She spent some time at the Inn. doing a lot of reflecting and gathering herself up before finally deciding today she would go out. coming into the Tavern for a drink or two. stepping inside and looking around. she noticed Kaelis. and had a momentary look of Shock, Disgust, and Concern, but thinking it best to mind her own, moved down a few stools down the bar and taking a seat with a heavy sigh*

*The dwarf finally returns. Wiping his hands off with a clean looking cloth.* “Took care of the barrels, Roddrick.” *He informs the owner. Stepping out of the way of a waitress as she enters the back room.*

*Watched Kaelis walk off before her attention was drawn back to Roddrick* Oh.. If you insist. Perhaps a Dragons Breath Cider... seems interesting.

*pours a glass, and slides it over before adressing Torro* Eye, think ye can reach the sink and wash those mugs?

Emara... *She said. returning her gaze to the back wall of the bar area and just sipping her Cider. lost in thought.*

Well nice to meet you! I heard a spot opened up in the adventures party, and I was wondering if I could join?

*Freezes and kinda slams down her cup. sucking in a sharp breath and then sighing* Yes.... a spot has "Opened up" in this party.. my party.. but it could be just as easily closed. never said i needed a large party. it could just be me and one other member. but if you're so keen on being an adventurer. I'd like to know what skillsets you have first... if you'll be a useful ally or a liability. we don't want a member that becomes an obstacle.

How can I improve if I never go out there?

You want to join a party without having the proper skill levels to even defend yourself? You couldn't even freeze a cup of water... and if you do any on the run learning. you'll be more likely to be absolutely destroyed in your first real battle. you haven't got what it takes. so go home. practice. then come back and talk to me about joining.

But I can freeze the water! *tries again*
